#liveincolor

You never know when you will be inspired.  I have started taking my camera everywhere, just in case something sparks my interest.  While on the island, we ran to Home Depot on a quick errand.  After looking at the wall of color palettes, how can you not be inspired?

So many colors, so many looks.  Live in color, wear color, travel in color, read in color, the options are limitless.  Mix and match colors, prints, and fabrics. Read a pink novel while sitting on a striped lounge near the cool blue ocean.
Even in the snow it looks like Summer! [Montreal]  our kind of street

Being a Cincinnati native, I have always been obsessed with this poster (even had a giant on in my room as a child.)  But how could you not love it, it's beautiful!

Live in color, sassy ladies!

hehe...

Ever seen Gossip Girl?  Watched the nasty high school girls gossip about one another all day long?  You may have some stereotypes of what life is like in an all girls' private high school, but I am want to get the facts straight.  So here it is... life in a Cincinnati all girls' private high school (may vary according to city and state.)

Stereotypes
lol!1.  All private school girls are rich, blonde, and snobby.  FALSE- While paying for a private school education maybe quite costly, some students are on scholarship and others' are living a simple life at home, in order to afford being sent to a private school.  Trust me, in private school, there are blondes, brunettes, lovely straight-out-of-a-bottle haired, Caucasians, African Americans, Asians, etc.  Some may be snobby, but it just depends on the crowd you roll with.
messy bun. loving the wore-it-all-day look. tip is to pull it tgh and twist uptil wrapped around while holding it up to the ceiling instead of down or sideways.2.  Private school girls have awesome clothes.  FALSE- wearing a skirt and polo everyday creates a HUGE problem when heading to college.  Who knew we would have to drop $500 on clothes in order to look socially acceptable?  There are days when I wish I could wear by green/grey plaid to class.
3.  Private school girls have great hair.  FALSE- psshhh, I wish.  There were days where I would roll out of bed, throw on my polo and skirt, and walk out the door.  One day, my English teacher asked if I has been caught in a windstorm because my hair was looking a bit disheveled.  One thing we are quite skilled at it is the messy bun- any private school girl has mastered that art!

Wear super cute skirts and messy buns to keep it sassy in school!

#congrats

Congratulations are in order!  Wanna give a big shout-out to my friend who got engaged on Friday!  Seriously, they deserve the #worldscutestcoupleaward.  He picked her up from work, drove her around for nine hours going to different places in Cincinnati, so where they met, had their first date, etc.  I know you may be thinking "how cute is that" but it gets even better... he made a delicious dinner, proposed, and then had a party for both of their families.  Needless to say, I'm a bit #obsessed.

So for all of you who may be single, engaged, or married, you may find some of these entertaining.

#goinglunching

Who knew one could spend two hours dining out in the middle of the afternoon?  On this lovely day, I decided to take a break from my studies to go lunching with my mom and her friends.  We went to the neighborhood pizza joint, and it was surprisingly packed, with a bunch of old biddies.  As soon as I entered the pizza joint, these old folks gave me the stare down since I was out lunching instead of being in school... Um, excuse me, 1.  I live in America, it's a free country (I know, surprise, they just passed that act in like 1776) and 2.  I'm in college, I don't HAVE to go to class.

So anyways, great start.  I love being filled in on all of the gossip.  It's classic, and thoroughly enjoyable.  Upon the arrival of out food, the old ladies started bickering since our food had been delivered first.  Seriously... stop complaining.  1.  You are 80 years old, what do you need to be doing?  2.  You have a party of eight, we have a party of four.  3.  We ordered pizza, you all ordered specialty sandwiches.

I made a promise to my mother and her friends.  If I ever am out with them when they get older, or I see them in public complaining and being a pain, I have the right to drag them home.  Let's just say, my children will do the same for me.

Get lunching, you sassy lady!

#cupcakes

We wholeheartedly agree!

Wanna give a shout out to the mother of #creativeone.  She was so lovely and brought us delicious cupcakes for exam week.  How cute are they- red and black for University of Cincinnati?!  We, the roommates, love her mom.

Fun cupcake quotes:

  • When you look at a cupcake, you've got to smile! - Anne Byrn
  • Where there are cupcakes, there is life.
  • If not for cupcakes, there would be no need for control top pantyhose.  An entire garment industry would be devastated.
Eat cupcakes, sassy lady!

#problems

Yep, I did it again!

This, my friends, is the problem.  With men, it's easy.  They get mad, fight, and it's over.  But with us, it's so much more, how should I say it, #sassy and #complicated.  We allow the feelings to build up inside, ponder them over, tell our friends who then develop their own hatred towards the person, and then finally a huge blowup.  We, as women, need to learn to communicate our feelings more efficiently and in a better way.

unfortunately, it's the truthSo there is this one problem that many girls and women have, the ability to roll their eyes.  Don't lie, you have done it.  We all have, in fact, as a gender, we have mastered the art.  As a child, the eye roll maybe directed at parents, in high school- teachers, college- professors, boyfriends, and in the "big-girl" job world- at other women.

@creativeone @crazycoffeenerd and @chillhipster think I am feminist because I enjoy watching TED talks created by women, for women.  If you get the chance, check out Sheryl Sandberg's talk on Why We Have Too Few Women Leaders #inspirational.  It's up to us, as women, to step up and make a change in the world for ourselves and future generations.  We need to stop being so sassy and get over ourselves in order to accomplish anything.  No longer are women required to work in the home, raising the children, although it is an option.  #whatiwanttosee is more women as leaders in companies across the globe.  Unite together to create this future.
